He plays most of his golf on the European Tour, and the most significant win of his career to date was his 2007 victory in the US Open.

Angel Cabrera's most significant golfing feat was clearly his win at the 2007 US Open golf championship. He has fared reasonably well in other championships over the years. He came 4th at The Open Championship in 1999, and 9th at The Masters in 2002. In 2001 he finished 10th at The Masters and 7th at the US Open, while in 2006 he managed an 8th at The Masters and a 7th at The Open Championship. He has not finished in the top ten at the PGA Championship in the last ten years.

In 2005 Angel Cabrera won the BMW Championship, which is one of the top tournaments of the European Tour. This was only his third win on the European Tour.

Also in 2005, in October, Angel Cabrera, 2008 US Open player, reached 9th position on the official World Golf Rankings.

2007 US Open winner

The highlight of Angel Cabrera's career to date was his win at the 2007 US Open. This was played at Oakmont near Pittsburgh. He ended the championship with a score of five over par, which was one stroke better than both Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk.

With his win, Angel Cabrera became the first Argentine player to win the US Open and only the second to ever win a major.
